Hotel Villa Giulia Ciampino

My choice to use this hotel when I was in Rome for a few days in November 2007 proved to be a good choice. It gave us a superb base for our exploration of Rome and coupled with the location to Ciampino airport things couldn't have been better.

The hotel itself is very modern but styled in a way which gives it a charming and homely feel. The rooms are on 2 levels only, ground and first floor and surround what I would describe as a very picturesque courtyard type of area. Set in a pleasant residential area but only 2 minutes walk from the centre of Ciampino, this hotel offers that homely feel which cannot be found in the center of a large city like Rome.

The rooms are well equipped and travelling with our disabled daughter we had the use of a very good disabled adapted room on the ground floor. The restaurant is situated under the main reception but is accessible from the car park so wheelchair users are catered for.

The breakfast is very good, self service and as much as you can eat, just what you need before a long day discovering Rome.

As an alternative to the hussle and bustle of Rome it couldn't have been better, only a few minutes walk from Ciampino railway station where trains to Rome are direct, every 15 mins or so and only take 10 to 15 mins into Rome central station. The hotel is only a short taxi ride from Ciampino airport, making this hotel ideal for Rome visitors flying into Ciampino.

Ciampino itself also offers a variety of restaurants and bars to relax in on an evening, also it has a wide variety of shops and a open air market on one or two days a week.
