Hotel Villa Casalecchi Castellina in Chianti

We've been to Tuscany quite a few times now, and keep returning to this hotel. The staff are friendly, and the location is absolutely stunning. Although only a few miles from the centre of Castellina in Chianti, the hotel feels completely secluded-in the middle of vast woodland and rolling hills. The views from the pool are simply spectacular. There are a small number of rooms in the hotel, so it never feels overcrowded, and the rooms themselves are furnished traditionally. Some of the rooms in the main building open directly onto the veranda, which is particularly nice as the views can really be appreciated. The food available at the hotel is also very good. The chef produces home-made pastas, and on warm nights you can sit and eat outside on the terrace. The town of Castellina in Chianti is nearby, where you can buy essentials, as well as picking up quirky souvenirs such as wines, oils and hand made wooden items. There is also a tennis court only a few minutes walk away.
