Hotel Verhaegen Ghent Description
This unique city monument, originally a winter residence, was built in the 18th century and has been in private hands ever since.
At first a property of count Dhaene Steenhuyse, it passed in 1766 to the hands of Bernard Antoine Triest. The Triest couple, who bought the premises in 1766, did a lot of finishing work and brought in a lot of refinement. Under their control some important work to the front of the house was done.
