Hotel Terravina Southampton Reviews
Luxurt boutique hotel in the New Forest near Southampton Feb 25, 2009
A chic boutique hotel that's owned and run by Gerard and Nina Basset; Gerard was a co-founder of Hotel du Vin and is one of the world's top sommeliers.
When I arrived, a bloke in an Aston was having trouble parking it! It's great here. All so contemporary. My room had a balcony as well as surround sound, an espresso coffee machine, a laptop safe, the most comfortable bed and a fabulous bathroom - even flashing ducks for the bath! They tell me the restaurant is inspired by California wine country restaurants. It has an open kitch and there's a real buzz about it. The food was great and, for me, it's the place for lunch in the New Forest While I was there, Gerard was teaching someone the art of Sabrage, i.e. removing the top of a champagne bottle with a sabre! If you enjoy your wines, then this is the place. The wines are all excellent and very reasonably priced. |
