Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Granada Jan 14, 2009
The Hotel Terrasol in Granada is the perfect place to stay in the charming little City of Granada. The place is owned by a married couple, Victor and Katja, who built the hotel from the ground up just last year. They are wonderfully attentive and helpful; within minutes of arriving they directed us to many must-see sights and booked us on an afternoon boat ride on Lake Nicaragua to explore Las Isletas.

The hotel was a little difficult to find since it is so new and not a lot of locals knew where it was. It is located 3 blocks west and 1 block south of the Parque Central, right down Barricada Avenue from Iglesia de la Merced (climb the bell tower there, it is only a dollar!).

Our room was on the small size which was fine by us. There are only 10 rooms in the whole hotel so you can be sure that anything you need will be taken care of. Our room also had a TV, AC and a balcony that we enjoyed sitting on in the morning. The hotel also has a restaurant which we didn't eat at but definitely will next time we visit.

We walked by many other hotels while we roamed the streets and were very glad we were staying where we were. The Hotel Terrasol is the ideal place to stay while in Granada. For more information about Granada you can read about our visit on our travel blog at patrinadoetheglobe.blogspot.com.

Good Quality and a lovely Staff Mar 27, 2009
We found Hotel Terrasol while reading some reviews about hotels in Granada. And I have to admit that they were quite right about Terrasol. It is a really clean and well located hotel (5 min from the central plaza) with a really friendly staff (they even carry your bags when you get out of a taxi). Normally I prefer to go to hostels but 35 dollars for a private room in this midrange hotel is a good price in Granada and Terrasol is well worth the money.
