Affordable accommodation in central Kuala Lumpur Nov 07, 2008
Hotel Tai Ichi has become my favourite hotel when backpacking in Kuala Lumpur. It is strategically located in Bukit Bintang – close to food shops, malls, bars, monorail station – talk about accessibility.

The entrance of the hotel looks like one of the shops along the street, but it’s not easy to miss out. The lobby is clean, with sofas where guests can rest.

Rooms are accessible via the elevator or the stairwell for those who enjoy taking the stairs. The rooms are clean, simple and look spacious despite the smaller sizes and have the Japanese Zen feel.

Fortunately, I always get a room with a view of the street. With other inns/hotels I’d expect to hear the noise outside. Surprisingly, Hotel Tai Ichi did a very good job blocking off the noise from the streets. So, you’ll be able to rest well without distractions.

Along the street are massage parlours offering ‘urut kaki’ (foot massage), so when you’re tired and needs some rubbing – you know where to go.

Imagine a Zen Accommodation at the centre of the city.
