Comfortable Stay in Baguio Dec 19, 2009
To complete you’re stay in the Philippines, visit the summer capital of the country – Baguio City. It’s the only place in the country where temperature can go as low as 7 degrees. Located in the Benguet province, it is home to strawberries, lovely flowers and fresh vegetables.

Hotel Supreme is very accessible to La Trinidad where the strawberry fields and vegetables are. It is walking distance to the Chinese temple as well and one jeep ride to the center of Baguio and Session road. Because of the city’s climate, most of the days, you don’t need air conditioning in the rooms because of the cold wind and the fresh air. In hotter days, the rooms have built-in aircon system. The rooms are lovely and cozy so no worries in the colder days either. And there are of course hot and cold shower plus a bathtub for you.

Hotel Supreme has two buildings facing each other – the older one and the newer one. The older one gives you the feeling of familiar comfort at home. The lobby is warm and simple. The rooms are big but not as grand as the newer one. There is a small swimming pool as well in the old building although I doubt many uses it in the colder times. The pool is not for children however because of its depth.

The new one is more modern and much bigger. We often joked that it’s a family of building and the old one’s the ‘grandma building’ and the new one’s the ‘apo building’ (Apo is Filipino term for grandchild).

If I remember correctly, the new building has 7 stories and boasts of many big rooms and function halls. They have a grand ballroom as well for big events. Good thing the elevator’s well maintained and offers a lovely view of Baguio houses.

Each floor is uniquely decorated and has a theme of its own (one floor has antiques, another is Chinese inspired, another has Filipino culture in it and so on). Their food is great as well and love eating there. After each meal, we often use the stairs to our room (ours was in the 6th) instead of using the elevator. It’s a good walk for us – we love the air in the hotel.

There are souvenir items in the lobby as well. They are lovely but a bit expensive. If you have time to roam around the city, I suggest you buy souvenir items outside the hotel.

Hotel staffs are friendly and ready to help. Items are secured as well. There were many times we left our laptops with in the reception area.

What I do not like about Baguio is when it rains hard. You don’t like to go out when that happens. And since the hotel is not in the center of the city, it’s nearer La Trinidad, there is difficulty getting taxi going to the city (like shop at SM) from the hotel.

All in all, if you want comfort and warmth, Hotel Supreme is a good choice.

always welcome Sylvia ;) yea, we don't want to get stuck; if it's rainy season, it's really hard to get taxi; that's the only not-so-good-thing in this place tho
