Hotel Sonnenberg Hinterzarten

In outskirt of the Hinterzarten Hotel Sonnenberg is overlooking a small valley with beautiful wooden houses and snow filled slopes in the winter. Just below the hotel a small creek is running and adding to the tranquillity with the sweet sound of running water.

The hotel is cosy and relaxing. The rooms are well decorated and like many small hotels in the mountains there is no lack of wooden carvings and porcelain with flowers or other figurines. We were staying in room number 8 which were the banana room. It always nice when you can find back if the light goes out. We had just to hold our hand on the wall and stop when we could feel the banana. Hmmm I didn't mean it like that - it sound naughtier than it is!

The hotel has a pool and it is possible to get massage as well. Our room was actually a suite consisting of two rooms and two bathrooms, which were of very good standard. The bed was awesome and it was a pleasure to stay there.

The hotel even served a great breakfast, but there were no restaurant which made sense since there were many restaurants in the small village and the hotel was not a place you just drove by.

I am one of these persons who think Germany is a underrated holiday country - you almost always get good quality for your money and there are so many wonderful sights.

All in all a great stay - cosy and nice.
