Hotel Sonia Reviews

Dec 07, 2005
Great little hotel which doesn't pay money to the touts, so you don't have that hassle.

Rp 250 a night when we stayed in Dec 2005. Hot water cylinder in the room, so you don't have to send down to reception when you want a wash.

Really near the main train station; a moderate rickshaw ride into the centre of town (Golden Temple etc.), but not expensvie. There are a few good local eating places around the corner, as well as a more up-market hotel which has a quiet bar which does food.

It's still a cheap little Indian hotel, so not at all luxury. The other guests were a bit noisy, but we're pretty good sleepers.

Taking into account all of the factors, I think it's one of the best hotels we stayed in during our year travelling.
