Decent 'budget' option in central Rome Mar 31, 2009
The Hotel Seiler is situated in a wonderful 19th century aristocratical mansion near Piazza Republica and within walking distance of Termini station.
The building itself is beautiful, as is the entrance, the staircase and the corridors. The aristocratical feel is not extended to the rooms, which are furnished rather basic (though modern). The rooms come with private bathroom and aircon, and simple breakfast is included. The hotel seems to mainly cater for groups of visiting school kids and as a result it can be quite noisy. Though probably not the best value in town, it is a reasonable budget option. The hotel shares the building with Hotel Aberdeen, though I have no information on the quality of that hotel.
