I cant be too harsh on the Sayang Maha Mertha because it IS a budget hostel and thats what you get. The pool, staff and restaurant are great. The location isnt too bad, about a 10 minute walk to the beach or to the central part of town.
I rented the cheapest room and stupidly didnt get air conditioning. You really need it, the fan drove me crazy. Also if you arent used to hostels, give it a miss. Theres no fridge or TV in the room (the room I had) Just your bare essentials, so it's probably best for surfers who just want a place to crash. I moved on after 1 night as I realised I needed air conditioning and a fridge, and a TV for time spent in the room. But thats just me ;) Staff were great though. |

The hotel is very affordable and the location is excellent to. It is located in Kuta area, a few minutes away from Kuta beach. Before going to the beach, you will pass by rows of restaurants, spas, stalls that sells beach clothes and souvenir items (reminds me of Boracay). The room is ok, I would say you get what you paid for =). Since i considered this as a cheap hotel - rooms are old but clean, toilets are okey, there is an old bathtub too (which I didn't dare to use). The staff are friendly and very accommodating. There is a swimming pool, free breakfast and you can book tours in the hotel too.

The morning we were leaving to Bali we had to wake up early. My friend, her sister and her boyfriend and I were taken to the airport by our driver. We were dropped off, got on the plane and said good bye to Jakarta for the next 3 days. An hour la…… Next stop...Bali! |
