Hotel Saturnia Rome

I stayed in this hotel for three nights at the end of June- Great location for anyone wanting to see the sights of Rome! Amazing price, although clearly if you pay less the accomodation is relatively basic. I stayed in a room without an ensuite bathroom which i was a little unsure of at first but the bathroom was only shared with a few other rooms and i only ever found it was in use when i needed it on one occasion so sharing was no problem. The room was very clean, the hotel staff were quite quiet but friendly enough. On our booking confirmation it said we had air conditioning, however when we got there it turned out that only rooms with ensuite bathrooms have air conditioning which was a bit disappointing since the room was very hot and stuffy. When we spoke to the staff they were a bit rude and not very apologetic so it seems they deal with quite a few guests who have been 'tricked' into thinking they have air conditioned rooms, however we asked if they had a fan we could use and within ten minutes it had been brought up to our room. The hotel has a 24 hour reception so is a great place to stay if you want to stay out late at night to experience romes nightlife (not that there is much of it!!! I recommend anyone going to Rome to join the spanish steps bar crawl one night- it starts at the spanish steps at 9pm every night and costs 20 euros- worth every cent!). Overall, i had a lovely stay in Rome.
