Hotel Santo Domingo Reviews

Just watch out because for the $135 paid per night (plus 26% tax), it was awful to wake up to the sound of a helicopter land at your door every single morning. The room had a view to the Caribbean Sea and the size of the room was ample, which was nice, though. The room's furniture is old, the carpet is run down, and people are allowed to smoke in the halls, so beware. The TV is very small and you can hardly watch tv from the bed.

Nice location and avarage service for a 5 star hotel Jan 04, 2006
I ve stayed in Hotel Santo Domingo 6 months. Hotel is in a nice location, but like all hotels in Santo Domingo it doesn t have any beach. The pool is ok but not the best. The best thing with the hotel is breakfast. They have the best breakfast in the city. On the other hand hotel is kind of old. Rooms are big and air condition and views on the sea side is so nice. But sometimes you can see some cockroaches or some grasshoppers in your room. Mostly they die because of the cold air condition. In the begining internet was excelent, dedicated 3Mbits connection to the room with cable. Wireless was slow. Later they disabled the cable connection and with wirless network you can not even connect to check you e-mail. It is so slow. My last 3 months internet was useles.. If you think about price/quality, i suggest you to stay in this hotel.

The fare to the Quality Inn hotel near the airport was very reasonable - about $40 USD for all of us. During the ride, Lesley arranged for Segundo to pick us up at the hotel and take us to the pier the next day. The price was negotiated at $50. We found… On to Santo Domingo! |

We also saw the French Embassey, and a very nicely renovated old building now serving as a high class hotel. A very old sundial was pointed out to us, and we were given a wonderful tour of the house built for Christopher Columbus. Christopher did not live to see the completion of the house, so Diego and his family… Before We Head For Home - One Last Tour |
