We had booked a package deal at Brisas Del Mar (see review below) which included 3 nights hotel, a wine tour, a sunset cruise and a few dinner vouchers for about $450 pp. The hotel is not fancy at all, but clean and in a convenient location. We drove in at night-time along the coast and quickly found a great hotel on Bath St. It had a hot tub so we indulged and had dinner on the pier in Longboards. " Founded on December 4th, 1786, it was the tenth of 21 Franciscan missions in California. It still functions as a church today. Couldn't find a hotel in Santa Barbara, ended up in one nearby in Buellton. We got the last room, the night manager locked up the office after we registered.

…the islands would look like today if they hadn’t been designated as a marine sanctuary… full of tourist traps and skyscraper hotels, I’m sure. What a waste that would be… After that trip, I now feel like I can better appreciate everything that the Channel Islands have to offer, and I’m even more motivated to do my work over here on State Street, to help… Quite Amazing. |
