Hotel Rembrandt Weymouth
Hotel Rembrandt Weymouth Reviews
AWFUL!!!! BEWARE Aug 02, 2009
Tthe hotel itself was ok! However the way it was run was awful!
We booked 5 rooms had a pleasant check in but we had to pay on arrival which we found strange and wish we had not done this, as on the first night a couple of friends could not get in to thier room and the porters eventually had to break the door down!! They finally got in at 4.30am, 2 hours later. To top it off the cleaners walked straight in at 7.55am with no notice at all. The next morning we spoke to reception about this and got the response "what do you want me to do about this" - a shocking response, so we requested to speak to the manager. When we did, we sat down with him and he said it wasnt their fault, these things happen and only about once a year. They said they couldnt offer another room or refund or anything infact not even a soft drink, as it was wear and tear on the hotel. He also said we should expect the cleaner to be entering the room at that hour. We asked for the name of the owner and if they were around, the manger said that they weren't in until monday (it was saturday at this point) and said we would write to them. He was fine with this, gave us the details and we shook his hand and went on our way. Half an hour later we were in the car ready to pull off when a woman ran over to the car and started banging on the drivers window, shouting and screaming saying how dare you complain about my hotel. This was the owner who was supposedly not back in until monday. Her behaviour was disgusting and she was so rude, she said if we wanted to complain to get our stuff and go.....We were shocked anyone could behave like this - surely you would want to please your guest who had payed for £1000 worth of accomodation. It wasnt like we were complaining about dirty plates or sheets, we were complaining that we couldnt go to bed and get in our room - hence why the porters had to break in. Swimming pool was ok but changing room and shower were filthy. Spa was brown and people who went in said it felt like a layer of grease on their skin when they got out. Decor of rooms very old in need to modernisation - but clean Food was good but once we tried to order food and was told as there was a wedding to go to our rooms and come back in a hour - we just couldnt help but laugh why should we expect anything else from this place The Praise I do have is MARK AND PACO the night staff who were so pleasent. Manager Matthew - Clearly has his hands tied and I actually felt a bit sorry for him. You can clearly see how badly the staff are treated here DONT NOT STAY HERE - ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN!!! BOOK A PREMIER INN DOWN THE ROAD AT LEAST YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WILL GET THERE |
