Hotel Rathaneum is a lovely clean hotel! Situated near a pebble beach, surrounded by trees it looks very private!! Reception staff were lovely and kind and although they didnt speak much english they understood a lot! Orebic is a lovely little village with a few restaurants and shops!(although nearest supermarket was an hour away!) Across the water is the island of Korcula which we went for a day! We also went on a daytrip to Dubrovnik where we bought a fan as there was no air conditioning in hotel!Would go back to Croatia for the stunning scenery but but not to Orebic.....it was just too quiet!!

Stayed at the hotel Rathaneum in Croatia in 2005. Went with friends for a week in July 2005. Well the transfer was very long a good few hours from dubrovnik and quite tyring.. But a nice hotel if it hadn't been so hot... Weather was 30+ degrees and there was no air conditioning and no fans available. Quite a basic hotel and not very near lightlife or a supermarket. Nearest supermarkert was an hours walk away... Clean but requiring some redecoration and up grading.. A short walk along the pebble beach coast there were nice places to eat and a few shops. Food in Orebic was very cheap and good quality. went on a day trip by hydrofoil to Dubrovnik which was great, full of culture and very relaxing, tour guide was informative and a good laugh.. We bought a large fan to take back to the hotel.... Also went to korchula island by boat which was lovely and plenty quaint shops and places to eat. Croatia is a lovely place and I would recommend a trip there. I would go back anytime, would probably stay in a hotel with air conditioning in dubrovnik though!!
