Hotel Pyrkerhof Bad Hofgastein

Two years ago I spent the Christmas with some friends from Chicago in Bad Hofgastein, Austria.

Because they wanted to ski I chose a charming family hotel located in a beautiful natural landscape, right next to the ski slope.

The Pyrkerhof is located about 50 meters above the centre of Bad Hofgastein, which can be reached in a 2-minute walk. There you`ll find nice and exclusive shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as the famous "Alpentherme" (Alpine Thermal Springs) where we swam outside, surrounded by snow...

I stayed in a big, comfortable apartment with private balcony and fantastic view. The staff was very friendly and gave us all the necessary informations we needed.

For the Christmas night they organized a festive party with delicious local specialties and a barbecue outside where we were served with “Gluewein” (dry red wine boiled with sugar and cinnamon).

Children are welcome, so on the Christmas day they all got presents from Santa Claus...:-)

They have also a spa area with sauna, aromatic steam bath, massages and solarium, as well as free parking, ski storage, heating bar on the ski slope, games room, children's playground.

No deposit is charged, pets are allowed.

In conclusion, I felt great and if I will return someday to Bad Hofgastein I`ll choose Pyrkerhof again (my friends from Chicago we`ll spend for the third time the Christmas there)!
