Hotel Plaza Punta Arenas Reviews
Old fashioned, nice atmosphere hotel Dec 25, 2008
December 25 – 2008 Christmas
We arrived in Punta Arenas in the early afternoon. Because of Christmas all shops were closed. It was very quite in the streets (family day!!). We were staying, for one night, in Hotel Plaza, situated a few steps away from Plaza de Armas. An old fashioned hotel, desk at the first floor. As far as I know no elevator, some strong guys in our group were very nice to carry upstairs all the luggage. We had a room at the front of the hotel. Curtains with flowers :-) Kind of atmosphere I don’t want at home, but which I like in a hotel ;-) Good bathroom. We had lunch in another hotel, around the corner: Los Hornos. A very nice, modern decorated hotel. Walls tiled with granite, very different from the hotel we were staying. Beautiful. Part of the Argentina - Chile - Brasil 2008/2009 travel blog |

Although I had a double room last night, I didn’t have a roommate so I was lucky enough to have another night free from noise. Sort of. The room was located in front, so it faced the sidewalk and street. Still, I managed to sleep…… A Museum, a Cemetery, and 10,000 Penguins |

The flight from Santiago was spectacular (see photos). We could see the snow capped mountains of the Andes and even glaciers! It certainly made the barron flat areas of Argentina on the other side of the mountains look boring.
