Today we slept in.....we needed it. The weather is going to be cold today. In the teens this morning and highs in the 40's. We are heading down to Pigeon Forge for a little shopping and dinning. Going to check out the Outlet Malls and the …hotels, motels, Dolly's Dixie Stampede, The Comedy Barn, Helicopter rides over the smokys, ATV trips, and of course a Walmart Supercenter for all you Wally World folks who can not live with out it. We made our way to the tourist community of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where Dollywood has become the biggest draw. Wow was it a mess of traffic and people. More miniature golf courses there than anywhere else on earth with the exception of Branson, w…hotel rooms there are here, but there is at least one souvenir shop or western wear shop for each one. And nearly as many places to eat. I do think that driving through that area had to be about 8 miles per hour average. We really… Pigeon Forge, TN and the Great Smokey Mtns.

The Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area has plenty of stand alone attractions, mostly in the form of outlet centers or go-kart tracks . I've already been to almost everything in the area except for this Jungle Boat ride. Pretty Cheesy ride. You ride in a b…store. The Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area is a giant resort area filled with hotels, ski lodges, outlet centers, and of course Dollywood.
