Hotel Parador de Calahorra Reviews
Parador de Calahorra Aug 01, 2009
I had been driving most of the day from Sines to Santiago de Compostella and La Coruna, and again towards Zaragoza when I decided to call it quits in Calahorra.
My GPS's first hotel choice was the Parador de Calahorra and fortunately they had a room free for the night. The hotel was really nice; from outside it looked modern but inside it was classic in a Spanish way and as a bonus they had a great parking in front of the hotel.
The room I got was great; nice bed, all the things you could wish of a room and the bathroom was huge and nice. I was truly satisfied.
The most amazing thing about this hotel was the breakfast; the buffet was fantastic and full of many small plates of local goodies. I was completely full when I left as the first in the morning.

Hotel Parador de Calahorra Overview
The centre of town is just 300 m from the Parador de Calahorra Hotel. A variety of restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities can be found in the immediate vicinity. The bus station, train station and tourist centre are all located nearby while the nearest beach is a 2-hour drive away. The river and park can be found just a 5-minute walk away. Ruta de los Dinosaurios and Parque Tematico Arguedas are both a 30-minute drive away. Bardenas Reales is some 45 minutes away by car, while Bodesa (Bodega de Sarria winery) is just 20 minutes away.
The Parador de Calahorra Hotel offers 60 rooms spread over 3 floors. The orange shade of the bricks dominates the exterior faade and has a decisive influence on the atmosphere of the interiors of the hotel. Motifs, sometimes epic, sometimes religious and sometimes medieval, decorate living rooms. The earthy colours contrast with the small, verdant flower garden and the fresh waters of the Ebro and the Cidacos River. The hotel is air-conditioned and has a lobby with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, currency exchange facility, cloakroom and lift access. A caf, bar, TV room, restaurant and conference facilities also feature. WLAN access is available and guests may also take advantage of the room and laundry services (all subject to fees). Parking facilities are available to guests arriving by car.
The rooms feature an en suite bathroom, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, minibar, centrally regulated heating and air conditioning, and safe deposit box. Double or king-size beds come as standard. Rooms also come with either a balcony or terrace.
The nearest golf course is some 25 km away.
Guests are in for a real treat when it comes to gastronomy at the hotel. Rioja is used in dishes such as vegetables stew, ""pochas"" (pinto beans), and the restaurant also serves chops with peppers, and pears or peaches in wine.
