Near Railway Station, Mehsana, India
Hotel Natraj Mehsana Reviews
Good value Feb 26, 2011
If you are anywhere near Mehsana railway station, this hotel is in an excellent location as it is just a 2-3 minute walk away. If takes a couple of turns to get there, but ask anyone where this hotel is and they will point you there.
Out of all the budget places that are in the city centre, this is the best option in Mehsana and certainly the only one keen to take in foreigners (some places stick to Indian nationals only - less paperwork and less supervision from the police).
They have a wide variety of rooms to suit a variety of budgets.
I stayed in the dorm room and paid under 100 R each night. The rooms had a locker for which you need a padlock. A fan and a clothes line are also available as well as a few electrical points. The bed was decent enough.
The toilets were a short walk away and weren’t the nicest places to use. The shower room was within the dorm room and much cleaner and nicer to use. Cold water is available and they provide you with a very large bucket of hot water upon request. The amount and warmth of the water was very good indeed, and certainly found in very few budget places in India.
The staff are very polite and helpful with advice and information.
A minimum payment of 200R is requested. As my room was under 100 R per night, I paid for two nights worth. If I left after one night, they would refund my money upon checkout. Likewise, if I stayed more than two nights, I would just pay another 200 R “credit”.
Check out time operates on a 24 hour basis. So if you checked in at 11.23am, you have until 11.23am the following day. Bearing this in mind, don’t rush with your check in if you arrive early in the morning and will want to leave around lunchtime!
For a budget backpacker that is not from India, this is a very good place to stay in Mehsana.
