Hotel Mulia Senayan Jun 24, 2008
Hotel Mulia is a luxurious and exclusive hotel which is located in the heart of Jakarta. This hotel is recommended for business travelers since it provides every little detail what business people want. However, a lot of shopaholic also stays in this place since it is near the prominent shopping malls like Plaza Senayan and Senayan City :)
Being a five star Hotel, The Hotel gives you best quality service with all the comfort and cleanliness required. The room is spacious with great interior. It has internet connection in every room. The beautiful night view of Jakarta can be seen from its room as well. Hotel Mulia has a couple of nice restaurants, a famous Cascade lounge and a prominent Night Club named CJ’s Bar. Keep your body fit is also possible since Hotel Mulia has a very nice gym and swimming pool :) You can still sneak out to have some fun by chilling out at The Cascade Lounge or CJ's Bar while having your business trip. Or, finalize the agreement with your client over a dinner at The Cafe or Samudra Suki Restraurant :) Enjoy your stay! |

Affordable Luxury Mar 22, 2008
This is so far the best hotel I've ever stayed. The luxury is just amazing. Located in the middle of Jakarta, 500 metres from one of the main mall (Plaza Senayan), making it an easy access and nice place to stay.
The hotel is also very cheap, just like any hotel in Indonesia. The standard room cost 75 USD. And me, having corporate rate with the hotel, got the room for 55 USD a night. The hotel is not only has a nice room, but also a very good service. With room key, only can goes to the designated floor, it prevent people annoying you by walking outside your room corridor in the middle of the night. The hotel has many restaurants inside, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Buffet (with a choice of Indian, Thai, Chinese, Italian, Indonesian and standard western menu). Even the buffet is very nice. I end up being very full for trying many things inside. |

The Mulia is listed as a 5 star hotel, and it certainly was very nice. Other people have mentioned the beds, and I did enjoy the bed - soft without being too soft, and comfy.
The security to get in to the place is like everywhere in Jakarta - intense. Not only do they check every car, you have to go through metal detectors when you go through the entrance. There are many restaurants (5 or 6), and the ones I ate at were nice. None of them really stood out, but they all had nice food. I'd recommend this hotel for international travellers as it's clean, tidy and huge, but not too expensive. The standard rooms are good for couples or singles. They offer broadband in the room, for 140,000 Rupiah a day (about $12 or $13 US). Just down the road, and about 10,000 Rupiah by taxi, are Plaza Senayan and Senayan City, 2 malls I highly recommend. Both have food courts, and a range of Asian and western style food. Good for a cheap meal. Part of the Jakarta - April 07 travel blog |

So before I left for Jakarta, everyone was telling me what a hole it is. How polluted it is. How little there is to do. But no one told me how awesome the people are. How fantastic the shopping is. And how different it is to where I come from (New…hotel, the Mulia Senayan. Unfortunately it was dark by then, so I wasn't able to get a feel for the countryside on the way to the hotel. Upon waking up the next morning, and venturing outside, I again marvelled at the heat. What a lovely… Ok, I LOVE this place |
