It was at this point that I was very grateful that I had paid for a hotel room with air-conditioning. I was staying in a beautiful hotel called "Hotel Kriva Cuprija" which translates to "Crooked Bridge". The hotel is named due to its location next to the Crooked Bridge which flows over the river Radobolja. The bridge… As an Englishman I am not used to this heat!!! |

…should greet the batter-tatta-tatta-tat of jackhammers and the metallic rip and tear of cranes taken to the broken body of an old hotel by the banks of the Neretva River with some welcome I guess although it breaks the calm just as another ratta-tatta-tatta-tat once did.

…Para llegar allí hay que cruzar el Puente Musala (o Puente de Tito) y dejar atrás la Escuela de Música, el Club Café Banja y el Hotel Neretva, totalmente destruido y que tiene planes de ser restaurado próximamente. En uno de estos edificios, no recuerdo cual exactamente, hay una placa dedicado a un soldado español muerto “en acto de servicio”.
El Bulevar es la calle más larga y que más historia… Mostar y el Puente de la Esperanza |

At the border to Croatia we were on the other hand hassled again; we had the same trouble as getting in; when did you enter before? Why don't you have any stamps in the passport? Where did you get in? And so on. We finally were accepted and could head back for Klek and our apartment and the good food at Plaza hotel.
