Good value, nice hotel Sep 28, 2008
Stayed here for ~5 days in July of 07, when the hotel was new. At that time rooms were $90/night USD--great value. It's probably still worth current rates for upper mid scale range--$200/night. It's located in a nice area of Kyoto, lots of good restaurants, bars, cafes within 10 blocks. Short cab ride from main Kyoto train station, subway station is within 2 blocks. The staff were friendly, helpful with directions, etc. Rooms were great, larger than standard Tokyo/New York rooms, reliable inroom internet connection. Didn't go to the bar/restaurant, but they looked above average. Would definitely stay there again.
