Nice centrally situated May 27, 2017
From Mandalay we took the shared taxi, is a two hour drive thus, we arrived at noon. A guy at reception isn't so good with english it was hard to understand, but he is so helpful and very friendly - while he make a copy with our passport another guy at reception given us a welcome drink

Check in time is usually at 2 pm but our room is ready. We got a room at 4th floor no elevator so carrying our bags through staircase isn't too bad lol we got help by one of staff.

They provide a city map if you need one. Information I got from the reception is not correct- I asked the opening hours of train station because we wanted to buy a train ticket he said is open till 20:00pm when we get there at 2 pm the ticket office is closed - we asked some people inside the station they said the ticket booth is only open from 15:00 to 17:00 pm. I also aked him about the price of horse carriage, he gave us a wrong price. I think the guy need to learn more things. The next time I don't want to asked anymore as I only get a wrong answer. He was alone in the counter while some hotels where we staying in Myanmar there were mostly three to five staffs behind the counter

We had a nice spacious room, with shiny floor. The room consist of twin beds, television, minibar, closet, luggage rack, hangers, closet, safe deposit box, coffe/ tea, kettle and free wifi

A good size bathroom with toiletries, good shower with hot water

Breakfast served on the last floor ( 5fth) where a good view of Pyi U Lwin. Buffet breakfast, choices of local food, fried eggs, bread, jam, coffee/tea.

Drinks in the minibar inside the room is cheap but not much of choice, there is only a few cans and bottle of water in the fridge. Also downstairs in the hotel lobby there is a big fridge full with drinks and more choices for reasonable price

We have two big windows, unfortunately one window is facing to the houses at the back, while on the otherside we have a good view to the mosque. The hotel price is 28€ a night and worth of its price except one thing - there is no elevator

I am glad that you made it to Pyin U Lwin. I know this town very well. I went to school there when I was a young boy and also made several visits there as an adult. It is my favorite summer retreat in Myanmar as the climate there is cool. I am sure you found the mode of transport there quite unique. I'm referring to the horse-drawn carriages.
