Hotel Master Paradise Pushkar Reviews
Nice on the outside, not so nice on the inside Aug 28, 2010
The Master Palace was booked for us as part of our tour through Rajasthan. At first sight the hotel seemed perfect. A very nice building, with spacious rooms (or cabins, for those who like a little splurging), a nice pool with poolside bar, massage salon, etc. etc.
The restaurant is excellent - at least for dinner. They do excellent veg food (everything is 100% veg in this city) which you can wash down with tasty shakes.
Breakfast is a bit hit and miss though. The first morning we had a modest breakfast buffet, filled with toast, egg-less pancakes, baked beans, porridge, parathas and the likes. The second day there were not enough guests in the hotel for a breakfast buffet, so instead we were served just a meagre two pieces of toast, a small bowl of cornflakes and a single pancake.
There is no internet available in the rooms, but you can get wi-fi in the lobby - at an absurd Rs60 per hour!!
My tip: pay once, get the password, and afterwards sit down on the second floor above the reception - you should be able to pick up the signal there.
It's location is a bit far from the centre though - a good 15-minute walk. It's the last hotel on a dusty road leading out of town.
But the worst, the staff. Never (up until then) had I encountered such indifferent, almost rude, staff in a hotel. With the exception of the guy running the poolside bar, none of the staff showed any interest in providing the hotel guests with any service.
So in conclusion? Forget it! No matter how nice the rooms and amenities are, I am 100% sure you can get better in Pushkar.
