Hotel Markus Sittikus Salzburg

I booked this hotel because it offered a single at the best price, as close to Old Town as possible. It turns out that it was a good hotel. It's just a little out farther out of the Old Town than I would like but, it this is a small town. It really isn't very far and gives you an opportunity to enjoy the view as you approach the old town each time. It is very close to Mirabell Palace.

It is within a short walking distance from the train station.

The front desk staff is friendly and helpful.

The room is very, very small. It's probably only 2 meters across, maybe a touch more. The bed is in an alcove and the bath is at one end the width the bed. That tells you how wide it is. This has to be the smallest bath ever. The shower was tiny. It's good that I'm a thinner person. It would be a problem for some larger people. The room style was lodge like. It sounds like I hated it. I'm just giving the facts. It was quite comfy and was enough space for me even though it was very small. An issue I have with it now, for 2009 they took an increase in their price that might put me looking for other accomodations when I return to Salzburg. For anyone who's ever been.....you must return.
