Afforable little hotel in Florence Dec 08, 2007
You can find hotel Machiavelli Palace on Via Nazionale, about a 5 minute walk from Florence's train station. It is a friendly little maze of a place, but it's hard to get lost inside as you just keep on following the corridors untill you eventually get to your room.
The room itself is perfect for a romantic get-away, if you can be that lucky, with its wooden ceiling beams and terracotta tiles on the floor, beautifull drapes and perfect little bathroom up 2 small steps. The breakfast room is pretty small and breakfast itself is standard but good. Reception is friendly and helpfull. Hotel Machiavelli Palace is perfectly located for exploring the city. The Duomo is about 15 minutes away on foot, and there are plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. At 59 Euro per night through Booking.com, it's quite a steal too.
