Central and okay May 21, 2009
I stayed in this hotel with a group of students. The big plus about this hotel is its location: just minutes walk from Stazione Termini.
The hotel is situated on the first floor, with a small reception and breakfast area on that floor. The rooms are located on the first floor (follow the halls) or 1 floor up. I haven't seen the rooms of my students, so I'll review my room; it was small, 2 beds and a desk. But it was reasonable clean, just as the badroom. The view wasn't spectacular, but at least we had a window. The badroom was narrow, with a sink, toilet and bidet, and a shower. The shower wasn't that great: not enough water pressure and the water got all over the badroom, despite the door. The beds were good, although the pillow was a bit too soft to my liking. But the sheet were clean and fresh. Breakfast was simple: some buns, some ham and cheese, jam, butter, 2 kinds of juice/limonade and tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Also available: crackers and chocolate paste. Simple but nutricious. the staff is very nice and helpfull, but strict to the groups; there were more groups at the same time, so they had to! B&B in Termini May 08, 2008
Hotel Luciani is located across the street from Termini Station. At the time of our trip, almost all hotels were full and we were thankful enough to get a room from this hotel.
It turned out that the main hotel was full and we were brought to another block, where rooms (according to the attendant) were bigger with newly renovated toilet&bath. But I liked the room. It was nice enough to sleep in. Cosy and clean too, specially the toilet with modern bath fixtures and fresh new towel linens. Amenities? What amenities...? The room was so basic: bed, sidetable, TV, aircon, desk+chair and wardrobe cabinet. But the room attendant told us to call should we require anything else. I dont know if the Euro100/night we paid was a major killing or not. But I guess it was a standard rate in view of the peak season. Breakfast was served in the main hotel where we got a bit pampered by our fellow filipinos working in the hotel. It was a bit cramped though, just a couple of small tables in a tiny corner just below the stairs. Definitely not a place to do long breakfast. Anyway, the staff were all friendly and helpful. And with the perfect location was so close to Termini, you will easily feel safe around the area. Well, I guess, it was worth it. Part of the Roma travel blog |

Hotel Luciani is an attractive, small hotel near Rome's main train station. It is well maintained by a friendly staff, and is good for anyone looking for a clean place to stay without a fancy feel. The hotel is only a few hundred yards from the main train and bus station, and thus is good for anyone who wants to explore Rome from a central point. It is also only a few miles away from the main Roman Forum area, so people who don't mind a short walk can avoid the buses. The staff is very nice, and it has been run by the same people for several years. They do not lock the doors at night, unlike some other small hotels in Italy. One small disadvantage of this hotel is that it has no elevator, so some older guests may find it somewhat bothersome after a long day of exploring.
