Hotel Londres Estoril
Hotel Londres Estoril Reviews
Average hotel with poor service but a great location Jul 27, 2008
The Hotel Londres is a small 5 story hotel approximately 5 blocks uphill from the Tamariz Beach, the Casino, and the Estoril and Monte Estoril train stops. The rooms were large and equipped with flat screen TV (broadcast in English, Spanish, German and Portuguese) and had large bathrooms complete with bathtubs. The hot water seemed to come and go during our visit and was particularly problematic in the mornings. The desk staff was less than helpful overall, and were often unable to suggest even a restaurant in the area (despite the fact that there was an Italian restaurant next door as we later found). Also, as a word of warning, only approximately half of the desk staff spoke English. The breakfasts were limited (breads, fruit, cereals and juices). The best service we received was at the lobby bar. The staff here was very friendly and courteous. We did not use the pool, though it looked pleasant and basically unused.
Free WiFi is available in the lobby. Part of the Spain and Portugal July 2008 travel blog |

After a few days of conference-going, it was time for a bit of a break. We took our opportunity to head down to the beach. The Tamariz beach was beautiful and crowded. But as I found in Caminha, the water was too cold for my liking…… Estoril: beach and Cascais |
