Hotel Kernvansaray Reviews

The Hotel Kernvansaray was nothing fancy but only cost me 15 liras. The place is actually very quaint. It is operated by a father and son. The son seemed very excited to have an American in the hotel. The father made a glass of tea for me as I was a long distance traveler in their eyes.
I had a small room here for the night. It has a shower and a toilet. I guess they consider it a deluxe model. On the other hand, the toilet had to be flushed by pouring water into it. The room is painted in an aqua-greenish bluish color. It is actually quite hideous from Western standards but I am in really no spot to complain about the color of the room. There is a TV mounted on the wall. A small metal night stand that looks like something out of the 50s was in one corner. This is the classic example of a "no-thrills" hotel, but the bed was comfortable and the room was warm. On a cold March night in Turkey, I could not ask for much more.
