Hotel Granada Amsterdam Reviews
Average, cheap hostel close to all the partying. Aug 13, 2008
This hostel close to the Prinsengracht and surrounded by restaurants and bars... but the street is surprisingly quiet. The tram is actually in an okay-distance. Its quite close to Leidsestraat and Leidseplein, which are shopping and going out areas, and it also has some fast-food-shops, which is super, because Amsterdams Restaurants tend to be expensive.
Due to the cobble-stones its not so much fun reaching the hostel with a trolley.
The hostel itself has a bit of broken-down flair, even though its all compensated by the nice people who work there.
The rooms are typically hostel, small with two bunk-beds, from 17 euros a night. Mine had access to a filthy terrace, which was only used by the smokers, because it was winter. The bedding was really comfortable though, and the sheets and blanket were included and clean. The bathroom was really small and a bit dirty, with rust more than actual dirt. A TV was in the room as well.
It has free internet access and a restaurant. I only ever had the free breakfast there, that was included, but the furniture is a bit shabby. The free breakfast was toast with jam or butter, coffee/tea and orange juice. Nothing special but good enough.
Overall, its an okay-hostel, for the prices especially and the owners are really nice and helpful.
