Hotel Georgia Mar 30, 2013
We head straight to this hotel from the bus stop in front of Stalin Museum in Gori. The hotel was in the lonely planet guide book, however we do not have any reservation since it was low season in Georgia and we were confident we could find a hotel in this city – depend of how much we want to pay for the room per night.

It seems we were a bit confused with the location, we tried to walk around the museum to find the street address but we could not read Georgian language and we tried to ask the pedestrian and also the shop keeper for direction to the hotel. Unfortunately not many people speaks English and they could not lead us direction to the hotel. Finally we asked taxi driver about the hotel (show him the book and sign language) and he said it was only 50 meter from where we were (not sure how we understand him, but we did anyway).

So we walk to the hotel since we want to put our luggage before explore the city, and the location is really good at the main street and near “Stalin museum” where the bus drop us from Tbilisi.

When we arrive in the hotel, the young male reception has limited English language ability and we were not Russian or Georgian speaker, but we manage to communicate with him and asked for a room and see the room first before settle in.

He showed us 2 different types of rooms, one as a standard room with a decent size room, clean, with twin bed in it and the window facing the main street and also toward the park. The second was a suite room which is double the size of the standard room with it is owns living room and one double bed.

We choose the standard room which is quite nice and comfortable and the room price was reasonable down to cheap – around 25 euro for two people per night without breakfast – as the hotel does not have any restaurant in it. However there is one restaurant at the back of the hotel garden, unfortunately it was closed when we want to order lunch – so we never try it. It seem the restaurant only open in the morning to mid afternoon.

Along the street of the hotel, there are a couple of bakery shops which sell delicious cakes and we had our sweet tooth afternoon at that bakery, it was very cheap. The hotel also within walking distant to the market and local mall.

Opposite the museum has one nice and delicious restaurant which serve lunch and dinner and we had our dinner at that place (unfortunately we do not remember the name of it) – it is right opposite the museum and very busy with people dine here. The restaurant has huge selection of Georgian food with reasonable price. As expected, not many people speak English in this part of the world but we managed to order.
