Hotel Excelsior
Hotel Excelsior Reviews
Affordable, with its handicaps Apr 28, 2008
The hotel staff welcomes you at no mater what hour of the day/night with a smile, and seem sincerely happy to help you out with a room.
As Nepal is subject to regular power cuts, a lot of places around have generators to provide them with the necessary energy for those times. This can lead to noisy situations in the hotel, as the generator can be placed right under your window. Also the talks of your neighbours are quite clear for you, whan the windows are opened. The rooms don't have fans, so during the summer it can get warm, but I didn't experience it as really being hot. The rooms get cleaned every day, as well is the private bathroom, with toilet. The hotel doesn't provide double beds. The rooms are double rooms with two seperate beds. Nothing stops you from putting them next to eachother of course. Towels and a small soap are provided in your bathroom. Excelsior is a nice place to stay, which has a lot to do with its friendly and helpful staff. If you don't mind the noice every now and then, I can surely recomend it as a nice price in Thamel, with a very central location. According to my last information, the hotel is also in hands of Tibetan Management. |
