Hotel Europa Reviews

Sep 11, 2006
Hotel Europa was a great hotel, situated just off the beach at San
Sebastian - about 5 minutes walk from the action in the Old Town.

It has a lovely belle-epoque exterior and friendly reception staff.

The room was small but perfectly formed and they really had thought of
everything including little signs informing you that you can be loaned
free of charge such items as beach towels, an iron, an unbrella etc.
The sparkling water in the mini-bar was free - I've never known free
things in any other minibar in the entire world!

Its charm is that it's not a faceless chain hotel. It's clean, well-kept and well-situated.

The only thing that let it down was its bar/restaurant, a funny little
place with incredibly rude staff (I can't imagine they had the same
training as the reception staff who were polite and friendly!).

You can avoid the bar in the evenings but breakfast was served there so you had to go at least once a day!
