Hotel Diamonds And Pearls Antwerp

We needed a place to crash after the 100 km Dodentocht (Death march). So my buddy Rens booked a hotel in Antwerp. When I saw the name of the hotel (Diamonds & Pearls) I thought by myself "What was he thinking?" ;-)

Anyway we arrived in the restaurant (?) Yes, we discovered that it was also a restaurant and that there was no reception to check in.
It doesn't look like a hotel from the outside (and inside)!
A lady asked us if she could help us. We said YES, we have made a booking. She walked to the bar (?) No, not for a cold beer or a good glass of wine, but to check us in.

Diamond & Pearls is a three stars hotel and offers 5 rooms (websites said 4, but we had room 5) decorated each in different ways. Our room really looked cool. To enter our room we had to walk through the restaurant. On the first floor (of our room!) you could find the bathroom and two toilets (yes 2), there is also a room with a Jacuzzi, but we have two toilets ;-)
The sleeping room is situated on the second floor. No complains about the bed. I haven’t discovered a television in the room, but that doesn’t matter to me.

When I looked out of the window:
In front of me, the other 4 hotel rooms
When I looked down, happy couples join their meal in the restaurant
When I looked to the left, a nice view at the Cathedral
On the right? I can’t remember, so I guess a wall ;-)

The Pelgrimstraat, were the hotel is situated, consists a lot of bars and restaurants. The hotel is situated under the Cathedral and within walking distance of the Grand Market in Antwerp.

Should I go back to this hotel when I need a place to crash in Antwerp?
Yes! It is a beautiful and cool hotel and I’m very curious about the other rooms…

Very good affordable hotel in the centre of antwerp.I was very surprised by the room,that was just huge.A good breakfast and very friendly personnel.You can find a picture of the room in my travelblog about antwerp. The bathroom is very clean. There's a bath and an shower and for the people that like to watch TV on their hotelroom there is a big flatscreen. The only thing that was not there, a minibar. But we solved that by filling the bath with cold water en used that to cool our drinks and wine.
