Budget Hotel close to Pahar Ganj and Connaught Place Oct 01, 2008
The Hotel itself leaves a bit to be desired. Bring a mosquito net even for the AC rooms. Traffic is still a bit noisy, but it's far enough away from the busier sections to afford a little peace, and close enough to Pahar Ganj and Connaught Place to be worth it. Bathrooms are not as well-kept as desired, but are fairly clean and are roomy in the AC rooms. Just west of the hotel is the Old Rajender Nagar market, with plenty of veg family restaurants, ATMs, street vendors, internet cafes, etc. By far the best feature of the hotel is the staff; they are very welcoming and friendly, and love to chat with you in the hotel lobby. They do not get many tourists, being away enough from those centers of the city, and mainly cater to families staying for the nearby hospital. To get touts out of your hair, ask to be dropped off at the Shri Ganga Ram Hospital and walk five minutes south. Or take the metro to the Karol Bagh stop, head east following the metro, turn right on Ganga Ram Hospital Marg and walk about fifteen minutes.
