I've stayed in various hotels in Mexico in the past, and Hotel Cozumel was very nice by Mexican standards. The rooms are on par with a moderately upscale American hotel -- Clean and comfortable, but no extravagant amenities within the room itself...read entire review at TravelPost.com

The Hotel Cozumel was below average, and the food was not very good at all. One of the dining areas is situated by a large cage of birds fluttering around pretty close to the food, with dining tables right next to it. It was disgusting. Alcoholi...read entire review at TravelPost.com

Hotel Flamingo (review below) which Cindy found on TripAdvisor.com and it looks cute with nice, clean rooms, an open courtyard with lots of local art on the walls and a cool looking bar (not to mention the topless, Mexican mermaid art which always gets my vote… Arriving in Cozumel |

One building that was nothing but a shell has been transformed into a beautiful hotel. Other new construction was evident all along the coastline with new restaurants, hotels, and shops. The International Pier is all brand new along with the welcoming shops as you step on to the mainland. What a huge difference!!!!!

I booked the trip online, made airline tickets for the flights down and back and a hotel reservation for the day after the trip in New Orleans . For the cruise I made two off ship excursions one at Costa Maya and one at Cozumel . The airline reservations and the hotel I made separate from the cruise. The hotel at El Crucero had disappointing rooms, but the hammocks in the courtyard were comfy enough to tempt us to stay. The owner seemed a little dazed, though I think the hotel employees find us weird too, after I possessively stopped… Arrival |

My usual day here: first half of the day is diving; then it's lunch with my friend; then we explore the town or hit the beach; relax and change at hotel; and finally dinner, drinks and music, with a treat thrown in somewhere during the evening.
