OK for location Dec 11, 2014
The best thing about the Hotel Corona is the location and the service, from there everything else goes downward.

to summarize, as a budget hotel i would give it top marks, but than price should be cheaper.

the room i had was small (like singapore hotel rooms) , small room, not modern, no amenities apart from soap and noise from the street AND other guests. (i was there during high season.

Location is great, close to central train station where you can also get busses to the airport for 4 euros, the city tour buses and more.

It makes me smile watching the amenities that they offer offer aparently listed on TB

Personally wouldnt go back there unless there is an amazing cheap offer and i am traveling on a budget.

Do those rooms come in a six-pack? May 16, 2012
Another hotel within blocks of the local train station, the Corona Hotel was still a tad difficult to locate. If you are seeking the Corona, it is just around the corner from the Central Market on Nazionale. But not only is the hotel convenient to the train station, the Corona’s location in the historic San Lorenzo district places you within easy walking distance of everything Firenze (Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti, etc.).

The Corona was a bit more elegant than our other lodging in Italy, an actual palazzo built in the 1800’s with plenty of marble and nice accents. Still, our room was the typical cramped quarters with scant room to walk around. Fairly standard range of amenities, including wi-fi (for a charge) and a decent breakfast buffet – of the four hotels we stayed at in Italy, the Corona offered the broadest selection of foods for the complimentary meal.

There was a nicely appointed bar adjoining the lobby, but we never sampled it so I can’t advise you whether it was a winner. The staff spoke capable English and were amiable. A satisfactory stay. Wish I could provide some more glowing insights, but we basically just crashed here and invested our time rampaging the streets of Firenze!

There were times when my wife and I couldn't stop laughing --- next to impossible for two people to move simultaneously in these teensy rooms!

Hahaha this seems to be the standard in Italy, I guess? The hotel I stayed in Montecatini had the same problem... I almost had to jump to my bed from the door! Hahaha Europe definitively doesn't have the space we have in America...

While the location of the hotel was very convenient - near the train station and right next to the San Lorenzo market, the rooms were sort of subpar, the sheets itchy, and there were gnats so both my mom and I got bug bites. Ewwww! The breakfast we also mediocre. I would not recommend this place. There are other, equally convenient and similarly priced, hotels on Via Nazionale.
