Hotel Continental Amsterdam

The hostel is roughly equidistance between Central Station and Dam Square. SO location wise its pretty good. However it is located on a very busy main street with two late night take out places below. This means it can get very noisy. If you are intending to have early nights, then you may find it difficult.

There is no common room and only one computer and the staff on reception are pretty lousy at helping you with anything. If you are just looking for a cheap bed close the the central attraction then stay here.

If you are looking for a quiet hostel or one with lots of facilities to help to meet fellow travellers then maybe look elsewhere.

Nice location, close to a lot of hotspots in Amsterdam, but it;s kind of expensive for what you get. Noisy as well, if you want a real good hotel go to Casa 400, located in the Watergraafsmeer on close distance from Amstel Station

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay for one or two nights, in Amsterdam, this is a decent hotel too consider! It is located right in the middle of the red light district. Dont expect to get a lot of sleep though. For only about 70 euros a night, we got three single beds with a tv and a tiny bathroom. It was going through some construction while we where there, so I cannot say what it looks like exactly. The entrance is located in the alley across the main street from the grasshopper steak house. The sign is small and white, so keep your eyes open.
