Hotel Chopin Paris Reviews

Charming boutique hotel at the end of a covered passageway, the Passage Jouffroy, which is reeeally charming (with a patisserie, a candy shop, some book and art sellers, a gift shop, a comics shop, a clothing shop, and the Musée de Grevin - wax museum). The hotel itself is a throwback to another time. If you're looking for modern comfort, this isn't it. But the bathroom is updated, and the bed was comfy, and the TV works (although no satellite). The only wifi is in the lobby, so folks hang out on the couch there. There's a cute piano in the lobby too, but it doesn't work. Breakfast is not included, but why pay the extra when you can just walk into a fabulous bakery and buy whatever you want and it'll be cheaper? The staff were wonderful...extremely helpful, and drew out routes on maps for us and recommended restaurants and helped me find an open pharmacy on a Sunday. There is a soda machine on the ground level, and a tiny elevator. The passage closes at night and you have to ring the bell outside. They shut the lights in the passage too, but it's not pitch dark - it just looks atmospheric and cool - except for the creepy mannequin in the Musee de Grevin window!!
