Hotel Cerretani Florence

Stayed here in early December, 2008.

You just cannot beat this location! On the Via de Cerretani. a short walk from the train station, steps away from Duomo, within very short walking distance from every major sight in the city. The Via de Cerretani is a well stocked shopping street with plenty of choices available, and there is even more right off the Duomo square!

This hotel is a former Sofitel, and still retains the charm and comform of the Sofitel chain (including the bed).

I dinged the service rating because of a VERY long discussion at check in because I wanted to pay with vouchers and they had already charged my credit card...over an hour was spent at the front desk and on the phone with the corporate office in Paris before they finally said I was right and allowed me to pay with vouchers. Nothing quite like having the desk clerk standing right in front of you trying to explain to corporate why you are wrong and shouldn't be allowed to choose your payment method...but once they realized that I was in the right, they took the efforts to make it right.
