Hotel Caribbean Dream
Hotel Caribbean Dream Bluefields Reviews
Decent Hotel Aug 04, 2010
As far as hotels in Nicaragua go, this is a fairly decent one. The rooms are air conditioned, with televisions (with English-speaking channels), private bathrooms and wi-fi available (for a small fee). The rooms are clean, but showing some age. The hotel is not soundproof at all. The doors closing echo in the hallways, so it can be quite noisy. The staff is quite friendly.
There is a really nice porch with several chairs to sit outside and enjoy the rain. There is also a reception area at the front desk, where there are a couple refridgerators where they sell bottled water and sodas.
The Caribbean Dream is located a couple blocks away from the dock, easily within walking distance, even with luggage (especially if it's on wheels).
The room rate is fairly inexpensive, about $30 a night (U.S. dollars). They happily accept either Nicaraguan cordobas OR American dollars. If possible, pay in U.S. dollars -- you get a better exchange rate.
