Hotel Cafe is a really cool bar/music venue in Hollywood. I came here with some friends to watch the Hotel Cafe Music tour and the setup was great. There is a small stage, the sound quality is good, and the bar staff is friendly. Unlike huge, impersonal music venues, you can actually get close to the stage and hear the music. If you get here early there are even tables right next to the stage. If not, there is plenty of room to stand ;)
Most of the artists we saw were really talented and the music was pretty mellow. Perfect for a relaxing evening - just be careful you don't get too sleepy ;). About as unpretentious of a crowd/music venue as you are likely to find in LA. Check out some of their music on their myspace page: |
