Affordable stay Mar 07, 2014
The hotel was quite good, nice staff, breakfast inculded (it was a buffet too so no limits on the amount of food), tv in rooms with quite a few English-speaking channels, lovely hot showers (as you would expect in Iceland), close to the biggest public swimming pool. It was quite far away from the town centre though (about 30 mins walk) but, I suppose, if you have tours included in your holiday (as we did) you get picked up from the hotel so it doesn't matter. Unless, of course, you fancy a night out in town and want to stay on the budget, then I'd say it's a bit of a walk. Rooms were small but, at the end of the day, all you need is a bed and a shower and it was more than we could ask for. No hairdryer or any other facilities in the room so if you want a cuppa, you'll have to go across the street to the petrol station to get one there.

Food was nice breakfast-wise, would not recommend to stay in for dinner though as there isn't much choice for the price you pay, mostly tastless veg, some pasta and bits of roast chicken. Although the hotel offers a deal on evening meals (work out quite cheap as for Iceland), you'll soon get bored of eating the same stuff. You're better off eating out as you'll get more of a choice for the same money.

Average but good enough accomodation Feb 08, 2012
I stayed here in a standard room for 4 nights with a travel buddy I met on the site - the hotel is located right on the sea front which is the best part about it and we had a sea view room of course. The standard rooms are extremely small and I would recommend you stay in oen of these for longer than a week. It is comfortable and nice and cosy but totally standard and a bare plain room - definitely recommended to people travelling in Iceland who are on a budget! The food was just average and boring but its food at the end of the day I guess - I would not recommend you try stay in the hotel for evening food ATALL.

Location was pretty good - 15 min walk to Reykjavik centre

You can read my blog for the mishaps the happened upon check in, but the hotel is new. We were assured that was not normal and that the day shift had had some problems and not properly updated the system. Beds were fine and clean. Bathrooms were very nice and they had flat screen tv's with limited cable. Breakfast was included, but if you want full breakfast offerings (all buffet style) you need to get there at a decent hour as if you swing in 30 minutes or later before they stop serving, the assortment is limited and not replentished. The juice was terrible and the coffee did not look much better. But the food was fine, nothing fancy all basic, but fine to fuel up on to start your day. it is outside of city center and it would be a LONG walk to city center. parking was fine, so if you have a car, this place is a fine place to stay. I would have no problem staying there again, it was clean and newer, nothing fancy, but better than basic.
