Hotel Cabezas Puntarenas Reviews
Budget Hotel in Punteranas Jan 03, 2012
Summary : I disagree with the previous review that it is an dirty area of Punteranas, the whole town is dirty IMO, but no worse than other non touristy places I have been. Value is average compared to other places within Costa Rica, I don't know how much other hotels in the area cost. Amenities lack, it's a hotel. Of the two staff members we had contact with one spoke very basic English the other
None. The place is nice very clean.
Security : Key left at reception, security gate to entrance with buzzer - open till 11pm.
Wifi : None
Fan / Aircon / Heating : Fan cooled only, adequate for our stay.
TV : Yes Cable, mostly spanish channels but some english.
Bathroom : Clean, cold shower
Breakfast : None
Coffee : None
Kitchen facilities : None
Common room : None
Bed : Older matress, basic but adequate
Room : Good, small to average size, clean. well ventilated however the vent in the roof means
that it is VERY bright in the morning.
Location : Good, close to everything (5-10 minuet walk) in town
Price : $20 for a shared bathroom, $24 for a private bathroom (double ocupancy). Perhaps a little pricey
for what's included.
Atmosphere and information : It's a hotel, atmosphere was such, possibly we were the only guests the night of our stay
information available was poor, however it's a hotel with spanish speaking staff.
Bag Storage : Free

wow! I'm the first to review this place:) Nov 03, 2009
Hotel Cabezas is located in a very smelly, dirty part of Puntarenas. That's what I love about it! It's not touristy Costa Rica. Gringos are few in this area unless you go to the beach where cruise ships sometimes dock. The rooms at Hotel Cabezas are very basic, but also very cheap.(I got a single private for 4000 colones, which is equal to around seven dollars.) The rooms are small with a bed, small table, and fan. There are two bathrooms that have cold water showers. One thing I liked was how clean the bathrooms were here. I think these were the cleanest restrooms I encountered while in Puntarenas.
I would recommend Hotel Cabezas to travelers on a budget, just looking for a place to take a shower and get a good nights sleep.
