Hotel Buddha Kathmandu Reviews
Decent mid-level hotel in Thamel Sep 27, 2010
I stayed here 3 nights before my trek in October, 2010, and 1 night afterwards.
The location is quite convenient in central Thamel, and the rooms have window AC, a plus during the hot seasons. My room had two comfortable single beds, and a full bathroom.
Breakfast is included, and offers a choice of 3-4 set breakfasts (e.g., American, British, Nepali). The dining room is rather dark, but breakfast can be served outside in the very pleasant garden where there are tables with umbrellas for shade.
There is no elevator, but for someone going trekking climbing 3-4 flights shouldn't be an issue.
While they offer WI-FI, reception was uneven. I found it much better to walk down to one of several restaurants and coffeeshops a few blocks away to use the free wifi.
I paid a total of $27/night, tax and breakfast included.
