Reasonable accommodation in Basel Apr 30, 2009
Mission 21 is a huge old building run by a centre that typically organises conferences and meetings on aid to Africa. When conferences aren't on, they drop the prices of the rooms to a reasonable rate. The rooms are tiny but excellent, the breakfast is great and they include a travel card for public transport around Basel. The place is overly expensive, but it is Switzerland afterall and the place is less overly expensive than comparable places close to the old town and the university. Just why the place was surrounded by armed guards when I was staying there I don’t know.

Interestingly different from others Feb 25, 2007
If you're fed up staying in chain hotels, this is one with a difference. It's amazingly clean and very organized.
