Technically a hotel but kind of like a hostel Jul 14, 2008
I found this 2** hotel on the hosteling website www.hostelbookers.com. There was a group of 8 of us and we needed somewhere to stay together and all the hostels were booked up as it was Bastille Day. So we opted for this "cheap hotel." Well as Paris is, being one of the most romantic cities in the World, if you are going with your significant other I would not recommend this place. However if you are wanting a decent place to stay with a bunch of mates, can come and go as you please, and more privacy then a hostel then I would recommend this place.

It was 35 euro per person for a 3 bed room. We had our own bathroom which was clean with a toilet, sink, and shower/bath. The rooms were OK sized but a bit small as they squished 3 single beds in very close together. The only other furniture in our room was 1 chair.

The people who ran the hotel were very laid back and someone was there 24/7 so you could come and go as you please. As well they weren't as strict as most places in Europe are with checking keys which was good as we were a big group and just wanting to bring our mates back to the room for some drinks etc. Oh and technically there is a "no alcohol" rule, however it's not very enforced seeing as we came back with a ton of booze and we even got some black market beer from the Chinese shop next door delivered through the secret door that the shop and the hotel share!

You cannot beat the location, right of Bastille square you can see it right from the windo and about a 30 second walk to Bastille Metro station. Around the are there is a few chinese shops, local corner stores/off licenses, a McDonalds, Kebab shop, bakery, internet cafe, and bars, cafes, and restaurants. This place won't be for everyone but for what we needed, it was perfect!

Budget Hotel near Bastille Square Jul 13, 2008
I stayed here mainly because of the proximity to Bastille Square for Bastille Day. I first would like to point out whoever is the architect of this establishment should be shot lol… If you are staying in roomm104 EVERYTHING IS SLANTED!!! The walls, the beds, the outlet sockets are slanted, in order to get from the window to the door, around the beds, one has to straddle the walls spiderman style :) When sleeping on the beds you wake up and you are half off the bed because my room is slanted… hilarious :)

Just beware of the big hole on the balcony although it is the quickest way to the reception!!

Room 104 is definitely the best room in the hotel, it even has its own balcony/terrace which is also slanted!
Oh and dont forget the slanted picture on the wall!!
