Hotel Au Lac Lausanne
Hotel Au Lac Lausanne Reviews
B-Grade Hotel with 4-star prices Jul 19, 2009
COST: This hotel is really expensive for what it provided, which was, NOT MUCH!
STAFF: The staff were generally friendly but there's no staff to help you with bringing in your luggage when you check in or check out. ROOMS: This hotel has NO AIRCONDITIONING and during summer the rooms get very humid and hot, so you will either need to turn on the fan with closed windows but no fresh air OR keep the windows open but the Lausanne Lake is famous for it's millions of blood thirsty mosquitos. We opted for keeping the window open and the room was infested with thousands of the mosquitos and asked for insect spray but the hotel didn't have any so we asked to change rooms at NO charge but we had to argue with senior management for it and thankfully won in the end. ALSO, the local clock tower chimes every HALF HOUR even throughout the night and will drive you nuts by the frequent night disturbances as you try to sleep. BREAKFAST: Really cheap, a few slices of ham, bread, jams, just the staple, so don't expect a large buffet. RECOMMENDATION: Definitely not for families, but good if you're looking for a hotel on the lake and not fussed with mosquitos or no airconditioning. The hotel looked like it had heaters so, at a guess it may be OK during winter. |
